Questions, answered.
Before you head out.

The practical details about working offline, syncing devices, storing photos, and getting survey data out.

Getting started

What devices can I use with LogLog?

Any phone, tablet, or desktop computer with a modern browser. LogLog is a progressive web app, so there is no app store download to manage. On Free, each device keeps its own local copy behind your access code — there is no account and no cross-device sync unless you are on a hosted Team account.

How do I add a site plan?

Attach your own site plan by clicking the upload control or dragging and dropping the file. LogLog renders the plan in the workspace so you can drop tree pins directly onto it. PDF is the only supported site-plan format.

What is scale calibration, and do I need to do it?

After you attach a plan, set its scale before you start pinning trees — LogLog uses it to convert pixel distances on the plan into real-world measurements everywhere in the app (tree spacing, canopy spread, and more). Two ways to calibrate: tap two points on the plan you can measure in real life (opposite corners of a building, a known property line) and enter the real-world distance between them, or type a known map ratio directly, like 1:100 off a printed scale bar. It takes a few seconds and you can redo it later if you get it wrong.

What happens when LogLog needs an update?

When a required update ships, the app reloads itself once automatically. Work in progress is preserved locally during the update-required flow.

Offline & sync

Can I complete a survey without connectivity?

Yes. Full survey capture works with zero connectivity. Projects, tree records, site plans, and photos remain available on your device, and changes sync automatically when you are back online.

Do I need to sign in to use LogLog?

Yes, with an access code — self-serve signup isn't switched on yet, so access today goes through a short waitlist rather than an open signup form. Once you have an access code, sign in once (that first sign-in needs connectivity); after that your local data stays fully accessible even if the connection drops, and only syncing waits for you to reconnect.

What happens if two people edit the same project?

This applies to hosted Team accounts only — Free has no multi-user sync. LogLog resolves concurrent changes per tree, not for the whole project file. If two people edit the same tree, the last edit to that tree wins without replacing unrelated tree records.

Photos & storage

How do photo attachments work?

Photos attach to individual tree records. Each photo can be up to 20MB, and uploads continue in the background whenever the device is online.

How much storage is included?

Free covers one active project with up to 250MB of storage — unlimited trees and photos within that. Pro (coming soon) raises both the project count and the storage limit. LogLog warns you before you run out.

Exports

Which export formats are available?

You can export a full-survey ZIP, CSV, XLSX, summary PDF, or annotated site-plan PDF.

Can I use exports in other tree-management tools?

Yes. The ZIP contains data.csv and data.xlsx for spreadsheets or other tree-management software, data.json if you need to script something, the annotated site-plan PDF, and every photo named by tree number. Nothing is locked to a proprietary format.

Data safety

Where does my survey data live?

On your device, first and only, on Free — there is no cloud copy today. Pro (coming soon, not live yet) will add optional cloud sync as a second, off-device copy for cross-device access, but the device copy stays authoritative either way.

Can I recover something I deleted?

Not yet. Deletion is immediate — there is no recycle bin to restore from, so double-check before you delete a project or tree record. Export a ZIP regularly if you want a standing backup.
